ESR/ESOR Fundamentals of Radiological Research
Radiological research is an integral part of our practice and therefore we are pleased to promote the free online course "ESR/ESOR Fundamentals of Radiological Research Course", which was developed by the ESR (European Society of Radiology) Research Committee in collaboration with the European School of Radiology. The course is primarily aimed at ESR members who are at the beginning of their career, but the content of the course is suitable for any ESR member who wants to better understand the basics of imaging research methodology.
The course consists of five sessions, led by leading experts in the field. The sessions will be held once a month, on October 1st, November 5th, December 10th, January 14th and February 4th on the ESR Connect platform.
The first session will take place on October 1st and will focus on value-based radiology: "Value-based radiology: research beyond diagnostic accuracy". The real value of a diagnostic or interventional imaging procedure is not just its diagnostic accuracy, but also its impact on patient management and outcomes, and even on society as a whole. This session explains the concept of value-based radiology and discusses strategies for linking diagnosis with outcome.
Educational objectives:
To understand the concepts of value-based radiology.
To learn how to define and measure value.
